By 2030, at least 10 million people in the Western world will be affected by chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). In IBD, the chronic inflammatory state can cause damage to the intestinal barrier, promoting the spread of inflammation to other organs. The drugs used today may have poor efficacy, side effects or high costs. INFLANT proposes INF176, a new drug that inhibits an important driver of inflammation (NLRP3 inflammasome) directly in the gut, reducing inflammation and preventing intestinal damage with a higher safety profile.
